Program Description: Classrooms for the Future is about recognizing and embracing the need for high school reform, enabling teachers to use technology as an effective tool for educating students, and preparing students to enter and successfully compete in the ever-expanding high-tech global marketplace.
Why? Why do we need to change? Are we changing for the better, or are we just changing for the sake of change? Check out the video below, and then revisit these questions.
Education has gone through different shifts over the years. Ask any veteran teacher and they can give you a time line of the different trends in education over the years. Take a look at this presentation created by Karl Fisch to get a sense of the different changes that have occurred in education over the years.
This wiki space has been set up by me, your CFF coach, to provide a space to access resources and facilitate discussions dealing with the CFF initiative and 2.0 classrooms in general. Refer to the navigation links on the left side of the home page to learn about the different aspects of the initiative and how they are being incorporated within our high school community. As you become more comfortable with the wiki concept feel free to add and update the department pages found in the navigation section of this page. I have also set up a social network site for teachers to stay connected, check it out. Check back frequently for updates and examples as we continue our journey towards a 21st century school.
